METRIC THREAD CONVERSION.
WHEN YOU DON'T HAVE A METRIC SCREW PITCH GAGE.
THIS GUIDE HELPS TO CONVERT NUMBER OF THREADS
PER INCH TO METRIC PITCH.
In the U.S. system of threading we normally use only two types
of threads. The National Fine series (S.A.E.) and the National
Coarse series (U.S.S.). We determine the thread by the number
of threads per inch.
In the Metric system there are as many as 5 different pitches for
the same size bolt or nut.
Also they use pitch instead of number of threads per inch, which
makes it harder to figure out what the pitch is.
With this simple conversion chart, all you need to do is count the
number of threads in one inch (be careful as some Metric
pitches are very closer) and find it on the chart.
