Provides a broad, interdisciplinary overview of the fabrication of
flat-rolled metal products, otherwise known as sheet metal. The handbook is for
manufacturers of formed precision metal products to add to their understanding
of the available materials, equipment, tooling, and processes. It is not
intended to be a technical explanation or manual on the design of the equipment.
The 35 contributions describe mechanical properties of metals in the fabrication
process; discuss fabrication processes such as slitting, shearing, leveling,
bending, flanging, stretch-forming, deep drawing, ironing, coining and
embossing; and analyze uses of precision equipment, including coil processing,
feeding, stamping, rollforming, laser and plasma burning, and spinning. -- Copyright
